Coupons are benefits given to users of the mobile application. Coupons can be customized according to the preference of the administrator. Administrators can set the start date and end date for every coupon that is created and generated.
There are basically two ways of creating coupons
- Coupons created without an activation code: These coupons are seen on the user’s application and can be consumed/used without any code. This type of coupon appears on the application by default.
- Coupons created with an activation code: These coupons require an activation code before they can be consumed/used by the users’ of the application. Coupons created with an activation code can be created in two ways
- Pre-defined activation code: The administrator sets the code to be used to consume the coupon.
- Generated unique activation code: The admin console generates a set of codes that will be shared by the administrator to the application users.
Coupons usage
Coupons can be set to be used multiple times or they can be set to be used once.
- Single-Use Coupons: These coupons can be used only once whether they are created with an activation code or not
- Multiple-Use Coupons: These coupons can be used multiple times irrespective of whether they are created with an activation code.
Note:
- Coupons can be activated by either the user of the app or by the administrator for a particular user.
- A coupon can include another coupon.
Types of Coupon
On the admin console, there are six categories of coupons
- Discount: This is a fixed discount given to customers at the checkout for certain products
- Compensation
- Price Category: These are used to determine a special price for a product. For example, a “student lunch” product can have one price category for students, where the price is fixed and the VAT is overridden, and one for employees. These Price Category coupons can be included in Membership coupons to form groups of benefits
- Student Membership
